What to Expect

Join us on this wonderful journey from north to south. Here you will experience the essence of Vietnam’s cultural diversity and the journey travels at a comfortable pace through the elongated country.

The journey starts in the north and Hanoi. Here you will experience the local life up close and we have also made a visit to Ho Chi Minh’s last resting place – Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The city’s first university tour is also visited. Before the trip go to spectacular Ha Long Bay and a fantastic overnight cruise awaits you.

Next stop is central parts of the country and Hoi An. This charming little place offers many experiences both in the old town and the small neighboring villages. These can be easily reached by a short bike ride or on foot. If you want to spend your time on a sun lounger you will find this at a short distance from the city.

The whole trip ends in Ho Chi Minh City in the south. Here will be a thrilling visit to the Cu Chi tunnels which hosted the Cu Chi guerrillas and a full day of unforgettable adventure on the Mekong.

Arriving in Hanoi, the local guide will meet you at the airport upon arrival. A short drive (45’) to the hotel for check in and relax after the flight (Note: room check in time is 14.00)

In the afternoon, our guide takes you into the center of the city for a walking tour. The guide will shows you the Old Town and Hanoi’s hustle and bustle.

Next, enjoy the city’s Water Puppet Show, a unique North Vietnamese art form depicting scenes from rural life and episodes of national history. The story is told using puppets that moves on the water.

This evening, we will give you a taste of Vietnam, a wonderful welcome dinner awaits you at one of Hanoi’s excellent restaurants.

After a good breakfast at hotel, the day starts with visit to the complex dedicated to Ho Chi Minh – the nation’s founder, containing Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (viewed from outside on Mondays, Fridays and afternoons due to closure. The Mausoleum also closed during Sep and Oct for annual maintenance), and his house on stilts. This complex also comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins date back to the foundation of city.

Continue visit Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature and Vietnam’s first university) which was built in the 11th century.

After lunch at a local restaurant we head to Hanoi’s bustling market where we walk around and inhale the very special atmosphere of the place. People come here from far and nearby villages to sell their wares.

The rest of the afternoon/evening is free at leisure (no guide, no transfer).

At 9.00 AM, depart from your hotel in Hanoi. Take a car drive to Ha Long Bay, one of the World Natural Heritages recognized by UNESCO with thousands of spectacular limestone islands rising from the clear, emerald sea in the Gulf of Tonkin.

Upon arrival, welcome aboard. Enjoy welcome drink before check in at your cabin. While the junk is passing many rocky islets, caves, floating villages and beaches, your lunch will be served on board with fresh seafood. Relax on the sundeck. Later on, the junk moves a quiet area to dock for overnight stay.
Dinner with Vietnamese food is served on board.

Wake up early in the morning and join a Tai Chi class on sun deck, the junk start to cruise around Ha Long Bay, passes by many islets named by their shapes such as Dog, Incense Urn, Fighting Cock, Finger, etc.

Breakfast or brunch is served while the junk continues cruising towards the wharf.

After disembarkation, your vehicle is ready to take you back to the airport for the evening flight to Da Nang.

Upon arrival Da Nang, a new guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel in Hoi An (40’ drive) for check-in.

Today is fulfilled with interesting activities. At 8.30, start your day with a short transfer from hotel to the cycling point.

Leisurely pedal through peaceful villages, passing water coconut forest, and rice fields. Stop anytime to interact with the locals you interest or capture nice shots of tranquil Hoi An.

Arrive Thanh Dong organic vegetable farm, the friendly farmers will invite you green tea while sharing local organic planting techniques. Hands-on, experience some gardening activities like preparing and applying organic manure to the land, raking the ground, sowing, watering and picking vegetables.

Before reaching the restaurant settled in the rice field, a relaxing basket boat ride along the Do River gives you chance to observe how local fishermen catch fish. Your discovery finish with Banh Xeo (Vietnamese pancake) cooking demonstration, and enjoy tasty lunch with Vietnamese dishes.

Return to the hotel to relax. Rest of the day is free at leisure.

You will have a whole day free for exploring Hoi An Ancient Town for shopping or having made-to-order clothes made. Or the beach is close by and sun beds are ready for you.

Today after breakfast we leave Hoi An for Da Nang where you take a domestic flight heading south to Ho Chi Minh City (also known as “Saigon”). Landing after an hour’s flight, meet by our local guide and transfer to city centre.

Take a “get to know stroll around town” visit Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the old post office. Also a stop at the big market in town, Ben Thanh.

Transfer to your hotel to check-in and free in afternoon/evening.

After a good breakfast at the hotel we take you to the famous Cu Chi tunnels, 70 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. Created since 1948 to assist the Viet Minh to combat the French.

This is an underground hiding places with living areas, kitchens, storage rooms, weapon factories, field hospitals and command centers.

During the Vietnam War the entire area of Cu Chi was designated a fire free zone and was heavily bombarded. From 1988, two sections of the tunnels have been opened for visitors.

Back to your hotel at noon time. Rest of the day free to explore the city on your own

Leave bustling Saigon behind in the morning, head out to un-touched areas not well-known by tourists in Ben Tre.
